Pilea Moon Valley earned its name. Those deeply crinkled, crater-textured leaves genuinely do look like a topographic map of the moon's surface — bronze-tinged green on top, reddish-purple beneath. Up close, it's a surprisingly strange-looking plant.
It's also one of the more generous plants in the collection. Pileas produce offsets readily — little plantlets that push up from the soil beside the mother plant, ready to be potted and passed along. The nickname 'friendship plant' exists because people can't help but propagate and share them. You'll probably be doing the same within a season.
Compact, fast-growing, and genuinely easy to keep alive.
• Light: Bright indirect light brings out the best color; tolerates medium light
• Water: Water when the top inch of soil is dry; well-draining soil is important
• Humidity: Average household humidity is fine
• Growth note: Compact and bushy; produces offsets regularly for propagation
• Heads up: Non-toxic to pets and people
• One Pilea Moon Valley, rooted and ready
• A digital care card — with full light, water, and troubleshooting guidance written the Roots Included way
• A 4" pot, ready to go
A note from us: Bright light, consistent watering, and decent drainage. You'll have offsets to share before you know it.
