CARE INSTRUCTIONS

LIGHT:  Fittonia thrives in low to medium indirect light — making it one of the best choices for darker rooms and north-facing windows. Avoid direct sun entirely, which bleaches and damages the delicate leaves. If leaves lose their vibrant vein pattern, move it to a slightly brighter spot.
WATER:  Keep soil consistently moist but never waterlogged. Fittonia is a dramatic plant — it will visibly wilt when thirsty, but recovers quickly after watering. Don't let it reach this point regularly, as repeated stress weakens the plant. Check every 2–3 days.
SOIL & POT:  Use a well-draining, moisture-retentive potting mix. A peat- or coco coir-based mix is ideal. Always use a pot with drainage holes. Fittonia does well in smaller pots and terrariums.
HUMIDITY:  Fittonia loves high humidity — it's a natural terrarium plant. In average home humidity, it may struggle. Grouping plants together, using a pebble tray, or placing it in a bathroom with natural light will all help.
SEASONAL TIPS:  Growth slows in winter. Reduce watering slightly and avoid cold windowsills. Pinch stem tips to encourage fuller, bushier growth — fittonia tends to get leggy if not trimmed regularly.

HOW THIS PLANT GROWS
Fittonia is a low-growing, spreading plant with small, oval leaves covered in a vivid network of colored veins — white, pink, or red depending on the variety. It stays compact and is well-suited to terrariums, dish gardens, and small decorative pots.

GROW JOYFULLY
Fittonia is a forgiving, beautiful plant that asks for shade and moisture in return for some of the most intricate leaf patterning in the plant world. Keep it humid, keep it moist, and it will thrive.
